question.....

#1 Post by Aladinsaneuk » Fri Feb 15, 2013 2:57 pm

having been chatting with a forum member, a thought occurred to me....

is there any reason why a variant of the renegade mid pipe mod cannot be done to a standard falco mid section?

am surprised no one has tried it....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

This was discussed ages ago an AF1 - The Greek was keen to do it.

The thing is, it's a completely different exhaust system that already links the pipes in a similar place.
I'm not saying it's a complete waste of time playing about but I think it would take a huge amount of experimentation to discover what might work well.

If you've got a suitable welder, and plenty of dyno time, it might be something to play with ........ but then why not go for the mille system with the mod that is known to work and save the additional weight and cost of a spare can?

some people do like the falco exhausts - well, the replacements for the anchors at any rate - both the fact they are on each side of the bike, and also because there are quite a few slip on options....

Like me, I really like the twin exhausts. The only thing that makes me want to change is the mid range gains but don't want to lose the twin exhausts.
How is it that the mille downpipes give more power anyway?

Don't think anyone knows for sure how the mille system compares with the falco system on the same bike even without the mods - especially as you are also going to be playing about with different cans.
The same is true for how the modded mille system compares with the standard falco system for mid range. you cannot assume you'd be getting an increase.

The only thing we've hard evidence for is how a normal mille system compares with a modded mille system (with the same can).

It would be an expensive game trying to get this comparative data - to be fare you would need to go to the expense of getting the fuelling set up properly for each configuration.
