Been a long haul but

#1 Post by fatboy » Tue Jan 29, 2013 7:13 pm

Finally got the Falc couriered up to Griff.
Was running like a good un,got her ready for MOT, tyres, chainset, service, working rear shock ect, booked test and.....................
the old gremlin returned. No fuel supply, varying voltage to injector relays, fuel pump workingl when tested .. total head f**k
But 4 hours in Griff's,electrical problem identified, Busa sidestand made to fit,Griff said ' Running sweet as a nut but fuel pump is fekked, it works but its fekked'
Pump would not earth out properly but works fine when bench tested,he also said you never would have spotted it without diagnostics !

You know, most garages you bread about there's always a flip side, a negative comment and yet I've never ever seen one about griffs. Seems there are still genuine good guys out there still.
Bet that problem stopped you from fully enjoying the bike...

Yes, that and DVLA. 18 month legal battle to get my license back after passing HGV medical but then being declared unfit to drive,
long long long haul
Trying to get bike running,Griff has spent ages on the phone talking me through stuff, tons of advice, all for free, even legging it down to the post office to get parts to me next day !
Cant praise him and his boys enough, they are a few steps above top notch !

Wouldn't want to have been in your shoes... As they said above, least it's all sorted and it's just the weather now.... Well, that and your bill from Griff...

The bill from Griff, considering that they made a bracket to make the stand fit, gave the bike a once over, diagnosed the electical fault, replaced a vacuum pipe, painted the newly fitted stand, found and ordered a s/hand fuel pump, will have balanced the TB's,fitted the replacement pump, somewhere around 4 hours work.
They are a top notch proffesional garage so the bill for bringing my Falco back from the dead will be pretty bloody reasonable and well worth it,
No, they cant sort the bloody weather

Blinkey Im sure I''ll see you there mate
