In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Obviously 'self' respect is alien to the man.

Hope they know what they've done - elected a self-promoting charlatan who'll only even be in his constituency for a photo opportunity :smt009

Think it probably says more about people's disenchantment with the established parties than anything else

I have to agree with D, it's the fact that even an MP gets, not earns, a salary of just over £65k per annum plus expense that leads to disenchantment. especially when people are struggling to make ends meet.

+1 It's a nice slap in the face for the muppets in Westminster. I'll give it 6 months before there's another by-election.

He may originate from the East Coast but he never won any votes there so moved west. The only Scots to vote him in were Glaswegians and they did it repeatedly over 18 years. So, no shattered expectations for those of us in the east!

that thing in the blue leotard has a bigger lunch box than george....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

A place that only has around 635 employees, but, has the following employee statistics.

29 have been accused of spouse abuse,
7 have been arrested for fraud,
9 have been accused of writing bad cheques,
17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses,
3 have done time for assault,
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit,
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges,
8 have been arrested for shoplifting,
21 are currently defendants in lawsuits,
84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year,

And collectively, this year alone, they have cost the British tax payer £92,993,748 in expenses!!!

Which organisation is this?

It's the 635 members of the House of Commons.

The same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

What a bunch of crooks we have running our country - it says it all...

+1 with you there Dav

Trouble is i bet there a 1 or 2 MP's that actually do try, the rest are only out to line their own pockets and screw the rest of us.

I remember many years ago a reporter asking a question to an Mp re the european debate and his replies was...
"we are not here to listen to the people we are here to govern"
kind of says it all really

Yeh I agree robbie. Most of them work very hard I know. Not actually sure of any of this is true, just copied it from an email that was doing the rounds, just seemed to fit the mood of the thread.
