It's been a tough week

When I took on as contact point for our club I didn't reckon on a week like I've had.

One of our members died in a collision with a car - so I've had to send out emails to members telling them the bad news, and collect and collate condolence messages.

Then I kept getting contacted by the local press - you have to be so careful not to say anything that could be misconstrued. Actually they've done a pretty good job of reporting fairly, and even printed the link for the petition about including bike questions in the car theory test.

Then I was contacted by family members as well, making arrangements for bikes to follow the hearse.

I'm glad if I've been able to help but it's all pretty draining.

I didn't know Barty very well but he was the kind of bloke you could instantly feel at home with. And I still can't believe he's gone.

I'm sure things couldn't have been in a safer pair of hands. Well done.
Don't forget to save a bit of 'me time' for yourself.
Barty was obviously very well regarded.

At such times, people are grateful for efforts like yours.

Well done, Bobbi!

Gratitude wasn't really the point.

Not really any point to this thread either, just needed to share, thanks all.

Awww shucks!

Spent a couple of hours at Barty's wake this evening - it was a good do, apart from the reason for it. People in bright colouirs chatting and talking bikes and enjoying the company, just as the family wanted it. :smt023
