Only a matter of time I fear, pretty much every fuel station has ANPR

So how will I fill up a fuel can if I run out of fuel or want to fill up a can for my mower or any of my other non-motoring ICEs and I don't have a vehicle with me that has a registration plate to check?

....... another thing they haven't thought through .....

Andy you have a point.
But i think any way of stopping uninsured drivers from getting on the road is not a bad thing. :smt018
Keeping an eye on your fuel level is really the only suggestion

ANPR won't work, take for example today I filled my van up at sainsburys, another car was in front of me and these 2 guys filled it up got back in the car and just drove off.

I took the number plate and gave I to them in the shop, the cars didn't match up on plods database and we all know what that means, (plod don't give a shit, claim on your insurance)

In fact plod (down here anyway) keep a record of these reports and circulate the numbers to filling stations.

..... and what about insurance policies that cover all vehicles a business owns and doesn't necessarily list them all on the policy. We have a policy like this at work and short term vehicles are not recorded ....

What about.. lawnmowers, chainsaws, petrol strimmers.... when they demand a registration to log the fuel against, how's that going to work?

They'll have to be registered as well, so THEY can get more money out of us.
