What is the longest anyone has waited for a next day delivery parcel to arrive?
Currently, my record is 14 days (10 working days) and counting . Special thanks to DPD who have increased my phone bill by ££ and also made me turn into the hulk and starting shouting at them down the phone on numerous occasions. Excuses include:
1. We dont have your full address or contact number.
2. We dont have your full address or contact number.
3. We have no record of you contacting and asking for a redelivery.
4. We dont have your full address or contact number.
5. The depot hasnt sent it.
6. "dont know why it hasnt been sent".
So, now they promise that a courier has been hired for the purpose of delivering my package, and it will definately be here by the end of the day.

Can anyone beat that?

Dear Philip,
Apologies for the delay with your order; we have recently moved production of this item from our main warehouse in France to our new facilities in Tunisia and there have been some teething problems.
Your parcel was dispatch from Tunisia on the 8th, entered the UK on the 11th and should be with you by the end of the week. To track your parcel please visit
www.dpd.co.uk using the consignment number xxxxxxxxxxxx

Ahh but most of that is due to the sender not sending it, so it doesnt count. That means you are tying with me. and look at what company is delivering both of our parcels. Noticing a trend yet?

Samray, yours will probably be stuck/lost/smashed to bits in Customs.

Mine's not a story of delay (yet) - just one of surprise.
I've just ordered myself a rather swoopy laptop from Dellboy Computers - courtesy of a sizeable and unexpected tax refund.
This will replace my 10yr old desktop at home - which really struggles these days. Eventually I'll build a new desktop too.
Anyway, today they emailed me to tell me the laptop had been dispatched - so I clicked on the tracking link - expecting to see it in Birmingham, Slough or somewhere similar.
It turned out that it was in Almaty, Kazakhstan ! (presumably being used by Borat to download his favourite web images and videos)
It has journeyed so far through a couple of places in China, South Korea and has now departed from Almaty, Kazakhstan - heading for who-knows-where.
I wonder where it will go next? I think it's making a travel documentary for the BBC.

Yes .... but it went from a country I've not been to to one I have .. and it was getting closer to Japan - maybe so that I could collect it next time I visit.
Anyway .... it's globe- trotting continues - now in Koeln .....

So it whizzed round the world until it left Cologne ...... they've at last got round to checking it in in Barking - just 25 hrs after leaving Germany ..... you can tell we're now at UK-speed.
Even if it came by road from Germany that's unbelievably slow in comparison to what the rest of the world has managed.

I bought one of those aprilia watches... You know the ones 99p starting bid and £6.99 delivery
Anyway i won it for 99p
It came from hong kong in 5 days
And in all honesty for a watch for less than a tenner its not bad

I bought a dell refurb laptop. It went from the UK where it broke, to China, where they mended it. Then it took 3 bloody weeks to get back here.

i would blame that delay on windows - probably a kernel error and BSOD
