Do I egt up some days so yesterday went to start the bike no joy looks like the optimate has died .... so no go can't get anything :smt013 Of course I only realised this after getting everything ready

midnight brainwave somewhere in my peripheral vision I had noticed unconciously that the boiler light was out too must mean its not the optimate so fekkin about with the fuses realise yes the optimate is fine :smt001

unfortunately means the downstairs circuit for the sockets is shagged :smt010

so tuesday attempt no 2 and sure enough bike starts fine happy days :smt001 well so overjoyed think right early doors spin and warm up to check tyres oil etc

well that was the plan till I realised that it had fallen off the stand and snapped the brake lever andf a nce coat of gravel rash :smt013

Oh well

So happen to have a spare lever which makes me realise light gold levers on the bronze kinda looks ok so not all bad thinmks I trying to be posditive

so one run later and sure theres no oil showing so quick top up thinks I as I use the nifty little pouring spout I got for just such a job as it leaked all over the drive and my bike and foot DOH!

One funnel fill later and off we go ... does plod only work 9-5 or what ? hopefully I managed to miss them all

get to work and realise that where the biken fell was the side with my work laptop in still thinks I at least the frame saved it a bit

so wheres all the positives in this

I now get to buy some colour matched bar ends thats a plus
I get to replace the levers thats a plus
I had a speare lever and realised how easy they were to change and as you know me and tinkering makes captain hooks fingers look nimble LOL
I am more convinced than ever that a flat tyre and an original sidestand are not a good idea so I need to get my arse sorted fto change the sidestand
and if Nooj tells me he may be able to polish out some of the scratching with some miracle liquid it will make me get my arse into gear to get down to Griffs and meet him there
and more importantly the bike is pretty much ok so am I and I learnt how to fix something!!!!

oh well hope your days are ok

Sorry dude, can't polish out scratches, only clean and coat what's already there.

If they're not too deep, spend a weekend with a box of old rags and a bottle of Holts Paint Renovator, that should get most of them out if they're only in the lacquer.
