The Sales

Well we have been in the market for a new TV and we wanted one of the new Samsung smart TV's.
So before Christmas we had done the rounds looking for the best deal. That was a joke. In the end we opted for a TV from Curries (£999.99) but decided to wait till the "sales"
So on Wednesday we trotted off to the"sales" to see if the TV had come down in price.
It had come down in price......Right back down to £999.99?
The ticket had the price at £1350 and we were getting a saving of £350
So between us looking at it before Christmas and buying it after Christmas it had gone up in price only to come back down to a sale price.
I always knew this sort of thing went on but never had proof....
I bet some things go up in price as well...

also Tesco have Samsung tv´s on sale a lot cheaper and I would rather pay a little more and get some service which I can almost guarantee you wont get from these places ... obviously not Tesco either

A few months back one of my sons bought a Samsung smart TV - seems a nice bit of kit.
Found which one he liked and then we bought it much cheaper online.

got a Samsung about 3 years ago, cracking TV's. Got it from Costco - was £100+ cheaper than anywhere else I could find it, including mail-order

I don't think they have sales as such any more. The few things I was looking at haven't moved from the prices in the pre-christmas sales...

Thats not cricket!
However while youre not watching cricket, why not watch it thru some of these genuine bargain Oakley shades?

The real deal, really cheap, just end of line stock I guess.

My dad bought one a couple of weeks ago from John Lewis.

I take it you're either going for much bigger, or one of those 3D ones?

Just bought an LG 3d TV a couple of dyas ago. Didn't really nedd it, just went to get small olne for the bedroom, but got a bit carried away.
Bought it from Currys who I found to be very patient and helpful, unlike Comet next door who just couldn't be arsed.
The last one I bought from an online company called Pixmania who seem to be about the cheapest around - and just happen to be part of the Currys/Dixons/PC World group.
As for the whole january sales idea, to be honest I think that is more a tradition than anything else, there are so many different deals going on anyway, they just change around fromm time to time.

Sort of..
We have a 40" Samsung already but we wanted a new tv in the bedroom as we only had a 14" portable there so we wanted to upgrade what we have in two rooms. The old Samsung is now in the bedroom.
This is the new one.

There price is the same but we did not get a 5 year guarantee.
It is a 3D but we are not that interested in it and you have to have two good eyes to get the best from it. There is one gripe though and that is no keyboard or mouse support. Everything has to be typed in with the remote, other than that we are more than happy with it.

You get a 2 year guarantee under the Sale Of Goods Act (1978) and also 6 years under the EU directive of similar stance. Don't ever let the likes of Curries or Comet fool you in to buying extended warranties. It's a con!
John Lewis however pride themselves on not being beaten on price. I'm not sure if they'll beat the on-line prices, but they'll match any high street outlet, including local places.
