Haven't seen anything from Oddkid for quite a while.

I know he had some heavy issues to sort out - does anyone know how he's getting on?

Time of year, absent friends etc . . .

Not heard from him for a bit but Facebook noted that he read some articles just 9 hrs ago.

Another one I've realised went quiet all of a sudden is Greg-D ... might drop him a text or something.

There are others that haven't surfaced for a while but they've probably looked at the drivel we write and gone away in horror (hopefully they'll be back again)

It did!

Hey, thanks for the concern and thoughts in my direction everyone.

As Willpop said, i'm getting back on my feet...sort of. Stuff is working out between myself and my family and my other personal issues. The Mille is still in Wills garage but i'm looking at paying up for the rest of the parts i need straight away after Christmas. Hopefully i'll be back on it soon, i honestly can't wait.

I've started to get my passion back for doing the things that essentially make me up, music and writing and in fact i've combined these two things into one and started up a website for in my spare time as a music journalist.

The only thing hanging over my head now is that my job at Caterpillar is in limbo. I been working there just short of a year now and i though my job was safe but management have had other ideas and are replacing all agency workers with young apprentices. They can pay them a third of my wage so i'm going to be phased out at an indescriminate time within 12 months apparently.

So yeah, theres ups and downs, i'm not hte mess i was 6 months ago which is good.

Really, thanks for thinking of me everyone.

Matt

Good stuff. I was going to call you old chap, but you're clearly a young chap... :smt003

Understand the writing and music axis; I did a fair amount of music photography, also combining two passions, a fair few years ago and it was something I'm hugely glad I did. Tried a bit of writing, as well, but that was mainly on the bike side of things.

My only gripe was that the music papers expected the world and paid peanuts; I doubt if that side of things has changed much. In fact people now expect it for free with the advent of The Web.

What kind of music rocks your world? (You'll have to excuse me if I adopt a glazed expression when you reel out a load of stuff I've never heard of...)

Thanks Mart!

I'm largely into hard rock and heavy metal. Recently i've been getting into melodic death metal, which is nowhere near as heavy as the name suggests.

2 Weeks ago i interviewed Blaze Bayley of Iron Maiden fame!

Melodic death metal?

Youtube link to some please! Cant figure what it is!!

Last time I really was anything like into Death Metal was when Tommy Vance was alive... and Sepultura and the like were DM.

I have to admit i am partial to a little bit of Opeth.... mainly Damnation - awesome album that reminded me of Pink Floyd

as I said Tim - Opeth would fit that criteria - Damnation was one of two albums recorded/released at the same time - the other, Deliverence is much more death metal though there are clear melodies running through.... as the band has developed they have created a very unusual blend.....

Ooh! i'm sorry, i never got back to you guys. Things have been a bit hectic my end of recent. Work is still up and down but it might have gone in my favour this time.

Yeah Opeth come into this topic, my other half is a huge fan. I tend to listen more to In Flames:
