Memory foam and electric blanket?

I've bought a memory foam mattress topper which is great for my arthritic hips - but now I'm puzzled about how to use my electric underblanket! Seems to me if I put it on top of the memory foam it'll negate the softness, but what will happen if I use it underneath? Anyone come across this problem?

don't use both together
i would use the electric blanket to warm the bed before you get in

What I'm concerned about is that having spent money on the mattress topper, if I then put the leccy blanket on top of it, it will partially negate the softness.
Presumably it does have to go on top?

It is perfectly safe to continue using you electric blanket, if you wish. Memory Foam is temperature sensitive and softens from your body’s temperature, the heat from an electric blanket will soften it further. You may find that too much excess heat will not allow your mattress or topper to support you correctly. Use only for short periods of time prior to bedtime and never use one whilst in bed.
Sounds right to me.
