Good biking roads in that part of the world. Heard there were going to be units moving there - quite fancy it myself as it goes.

Don't know what the actual place is like though, I've long since stopped worrying about the locality and just tried to look at what part of the country I would prefer to live in.

Various documents over the last few months make it a surefire bet. Would prefer the lottery numbers though.

We used to holiday up there, which is how I know about it. We used to stay in Narin and frequented most places with good pubs..lol. Findhorn is another favourite. My brother lives in Ardersier which is between Nairn and Inverness. :smt001

The summer I went up there for a golf tournament was fantastic, there was mention of a microclimate thing going on and it stays light till stupid o'clock at night.

Surrounding countryside is amazing and I spent a week pretty much drunk, so there must be lots of pubs or one really really big one.

:smt003 well the Regiment have been given their marching orders, summer 2012 to 'kin Loss. Which is all fine and dandy but thats when i start my last 2 years and my resettlement... for resettling in east anglia... so being at the top of fekkin scotland doesnt really help.. plus lots of other valid compassionate reasons. Got to wait n see the manning officer and cadge a posting somewhere else. Been messed around for 23 years now, boy and man.. little did i realise they could top their previous efforts so well :smt009 :smt009 but they have...

If I'd persuaded my old mate Hadrian to let me dig a moat instead of building that bloody wall you could have claimed overseas allowance. :smt009

Did ask whether Scotland was classed as 'overseas' on my negative posting preference..
Ive also added BAHAMAS to my positive preferences.. although I have never ever met anyone who has been posted there!!!! It's on the preferences list though!!
