Seems those nice chaps at the DVLA are towing some sort of EU line and are renewing all the V5c's.. Again.. They say it's because they've had a load of blank one's stolen, but I can't see what use they'll be to anyone TBH.. Anyway, it'll be saving me about £100 on replacing the one's I've managed to lose over the years!

yup got my first one today, very strange as it's the one that's in bits. I shall look forward to the rest winging their way (in typical dvla efficient style _)

The gumf said something about them all being replaced by November 2012. And like you, the two they've already replaced are for two that have been off the road for years..

Only another.. Erm.. 14 to go.. I think..

Wonder what happens about pre-sorn bikes ..... not sure if I ever changed the address on the registration document for my 400/4 when we moved more than 25years ago ........

Both - the bike is earmarked for renovation .... parts are being acquired

Andy. If you didn't get a V5C when they changed from V5, then chances are they've got rid of the number. It was written in the blurb the last time IIRC.. One of my bikes didn't get the then new V5C and went past the cut off date before I realised. Took me ages to get the number back and was very close in having to take the bike to the DVLA offices to prove it existed. They submitted in the end and sent the form out. Took about 6 months after I first applied and was about 3/4 months after the cut off date when I sent the form off..

They never told me anything about the need to change it or any cut off date.
I know the number - it's on the number plate.

Judging by the 'Date of Liability' you probably have never had a V5C for it as that was the dawn of the SORN blerks. Could be wrong.

Not a v5 but I did get a new style MOT the other day now there's a scruffy bit of paper. The tester said one tyre was ok fir the test but that plod may have an issue with it
