Identity Theft or Impersonator ?

Well, after several weeks of trying to order some parts to service and do other work to my Falco, I gave up on where I had been trying to order from and contacted InMoto (who I've always found very helpful in the past).

I told them everything I wanted and when I came to place the order they asked my name - which, of course, I told them.
Then they asked me how I was getting on with my RSV.
..... to which I replied that I don't have an RSV ....
After a brief chat, it seems that they have recently sold an RSV to a chap with the same name as me (bloody imposter). In all my years I've never met anyone with the same name as me - and other than family, nobody with the same surname (though obviously they do exist).
Quite a coincidence that there are 2 of us with 1-litre Aprilias (be afraid, be very afraid).

Anyway, that done, I completed my order with the helpful In-Moto chaps, got my Club Aprilia discount with no problem and now await the parts.

What happens if you meet your doppelganger?

And what will happen to the bikes? Will they fuse, creating the ultimate modded Falco?

Now then - I do have an unusual surname. When camping in the Yorkshire Dales a few years ago I went into the hardware store in Patley Bridge for a few things - emergency tent pegs etc. Handed the guy my credit card, we had a chat and then he picked my card up and put it in his pocket and promptly asked me for my card. ...... "You've just put it in your pocket" says I, "No, that was my own card" says he.

You can imagine what happened next. Same full name, same bank, same credit/debit card. Went outside and there's my name above his door!

Mine already has all the parts of any benefit from the Mille / Mille-R (and some more besides) so I think I'd only be the looser in such an exchange of bits

I can introduce you to a few more if you drop round to my house .... although you've met them, we probably skipped the formal introductions with surnames.

Rider isn't that uncommon as a surname.

..... I should have explained .... when placing my order and paying by credit card I followed tradition and gave my real name rather than my forum username ....

Mike's actual first name is Cyril - Cyril White. He's always been known as Mike for obvious reasons, but when it comes to medical stuff he uses his first name as there are loads of Mike Whites. So it was a bit amazing when he was in hospital for a serious operation some years ago to find there was another Cyril White in the same ward!

I used to go to Secondary School with another Falcorob (no not really) and we were called by our middle names to differentiate us.

Not nice when your middle name is Doris. :smt009
