Stelvio

Went over to George Dubyah in Swindon today for a test ride on the Yam Super Tenere. Wasn't taxed, so took a Guzzi Stelvio out instead. Too tall and too fat (for my little legs), to vibey and the screen was absolutely awful, making my head vibrate so badly from turbulence I got blurred vision and a headache from it! Fuelling was a bit choppy as well, hunting and running lean everywhere in traffic.

However, the engine has plenty of torque, very easy to use and nicer than the GS1200 I think (keen to rev, very little torque steer), handling was good on the move if a bit floppy at slow speeds, seat and pegs arrangement was VERY comfy and it has something like a 30 litre tank!

Couldn't live with one though. Was good to get back on the Falco, which felt like a tiny taught rocket ship in comparison.

So, do we take it that you intend to pass on the Stelvio?

Not for me. Was good to find it out though, as until yesterday I thought it would be the Guzzi I'd pick if I had to have one, and I'd never ridden a Guzzi before at all. Sometimes you have to try these things to realise how good the bike you already have is :smt003

I rode oune a year or so back. I liked it and would not be as critical as Nooj. However being so different to the Falco it would take some getting used to. In particular I didn't like the way the bars positioned the arms and shoulders. You'd think that high wide stance might be comfotable but I recon it'd be a pain in the neck after a 100 miles or so. Appart from that I thought all good.

Yep the Falco felt tiney and very focused after that.
