A HIAB lorry drove down our cul de sac to our house and the bottom and the driver came to my door (next to where my Primera is parked on the grass.
He said "Is the Nissan laid up? Are you interested in selling it?"

I thought this was a bit off - he hadn't looked at any other cars in the road, just came straight here. As I've inherited my mum's 'nasty suspicious mind' as we used to call it, I phoned the police. They were able to tell me that the lorry was not previously of interest to the police but they would broadcast the details and if they saw it would ask them a few questions.

Now I'm not sure what I thought was going on, I just know it didn't feel right - what do you think?

Pikeys round this way do it too. car is older, they buy it cheap, strip it of all it's metals (especially wiring) sell off some bits and weigh it all in. Lucrative business. Theyre doing it up our way too.

Someone interested in a Primera ..... yep - that sounds very dodgy.

I know - but there are other old cars in the road - and not as tidy as mine!
I thought there was prolly not much in it but it put my mind at rest phoning the police - my car may be old but I like it!

Yours probably came into the vintage to have a cat on it?

If he comes back shoot him, dismember him, burn the bits and jump up and down on the ashes. Just in case, like.
