Exporting a bike

Having some interest in the spare Falco from someone who's emails are originating in Spain. Does this actually mean they are in Spain, or just that what ever server they are using is in Spain?
If they are in Spain and want to import the bike, do I need to be aware of anything expensive/legally tricky which could bite me on the arse??

Prolly want to ask that question in a lot of different places to see what range of answers you get.
Personally I'd get matey to come to you and pick up the bike, after all Spain's not too far away.
Do the deal in England sign over the papers and send yours off and as far as you're concerned the deal is done and I think English law will prevail. Leave the Export/Import business up to them.
Donno much about the email part of it, but I don't think it's too hard to make an email appear to come from anywhere by using a proxy.

I sold my old Honda CB360 to an Italian who was living here but moving back. Did the paperwork as normal and he rode off to Italy land. Never heard any more of it.

yup, do the deal here. A Raptor which one of the RaptorChapter guys sold recently went to europeland and had to be re-type tested

It's OK, it's an internet scam. This is their latest email:
Hello thanks for the mail i will like you to know that am very busy to
come and check out the bike myself,due to my work program.but i have
taken my time to check the picture on the site and am very much
satisfied to buy the bike at the said price...,i will show my
colleagues the picture of the bike as i am a military man in usa .i
will you to know that i have agreed to pay the money for your car..and
i will also like you to know that i will be paying the money to you
through Paypal which i consider the true way to send money for now or
bank transfer....Pleas kindly get back to me with your paypal email
account or Bank details so that i can transfer the whole money to your
account.....i will be sending the money to your account as soon as
possible.....right now i think i have to go as we have to go for
drilling now.. i will talk to you when am through from the my
mission..i pray i wouldn't get hurt

My brother sold his DRZ400 to a guy in Hong Kong with no problems. He got the guy to pay a large deposit as proof of his intentions and said the guy had to sort out the transportation. All he did was drain all the fluids out of the bike and wait for the van to come pick it up. After the agreed price had been paid of course.
The price of bikes in the UK compared to the rest of europe mean that a lot of bikes are being sold abroad. there's nothing to be scared of, just make sure you've got the money cleared in your bank before you let go of the bike.
