Clun Valley Camping, Newcastle-on Clun, Shropshire, SY7 8QL

From Clun Valley Camping's website : Please note that some satnav units will direct drivers away from the B4368 and onto single track roads which can be a problem for those with trailers or caravans. You should stay on the B4368 from Clun until you arrive in Newcastle.

The main landmark is The Crown Inn (only pub in the village)

Image

Coming from South/East (Clun, Craven Arms), turn R. immediately past The Crown

Image

Coming from West (Newtown), turn L. immediately before The Crown

Image

Follow the lane (West Rd.) for about 100 yards; turn R. at this cottage

Image

then turn immediately L

Image

Follow this lane for about 90 yards; our entrance to the site is through a gate on the left.

I wondered if that single track road was the one I rode on the trike when hunting an RBR landmark - it went along the side of a valley and was beautiful! But I've just checked the map and that indeed is the B road - the other road must be VERY narrow if it's smaller than that one!

Was quite surprised how many ended up at the 'wrong' end of the campsite, despite the directions

I was expecting to turn left after the man doing the garden - but he wasn't there.

Not taking the mickey out of anyone - but if people did have any problems interpreting any of the info I gave for this gig, I'd like to know, so improvements can be made for next year.

John, I'll try and book the gardening chap in good time for next year.

No problem with the directions now I've had a proper look, but, I'm crap with directions so only glanced at them.
I looked at the plan and thought the sat nav will get me close, there are only three roads...

The thing that threw me was the sign to the campsite next to the community centre. Looked like turn right and 50 yards but was really carry on and 50 yards on the right.
