I Don't Like Mice or Cats

Last week I put my new, expensive StormForce cover in the shed while I went out for a blast. Came back to find that mice fancied the cover material for a nest they were building (at least it's not in the bike). Three nice mice holes in it (bum).

Our cat (clearly no mouser) sits on the Falco seat to get a good view of the world (and possible because she's afraid of mice). She has done that on all my bikes for the last 14 years. It seems she must have misjudged the jump up and not quite made it. So fearing a fall, she has managed to dig a single claw into the plastic on the far side of the seat (I'm surmising here) to let herself down slowly. I now have a very deep (not just a light surface scratch), 4cm long score in the bike. The score has actually got a noticable lip to the edges almost like it melted with the friction. Even my wife who has no interest in the Falco spotted it straight away.

It's the first real mark on the bike in 9 years of my ownership (double-bum - I'm being very restrained here).

Thats a bummer, but on the plus side, at least you dont have a pet Elephant.

Yeah - wildlife can be a PITA.

Before my falco was 2 weeks old it suffered the first animal attack. I was away in Sweden for work and when I came back I found chips in the paintwork. Some little animal had decided to sit on it while I was away and not realising it's weight had found it too heavy and it had toppled on to something in the garage. Must have been quite an effort to put it back on its stand. That little animal was my youngest ......

The next animal damage was a kamikaze pigeon that decided to attack my front mudguard. Split the mudguard and exploded the pigeon.
Woodbutcher was following me at the time - said the explosion of feathers was fairly spectacular.

Anyway, hope you get yours fixed up without too much cost and drama.

A Jack Russel in the garage will keep the mice AND cat away from your bike.

The cover on mine seems to have become a haven for the local feral house cat buggering contingent. Had no scratches yet but the bike sometimes has a distinctive aroma of tom.

That's a very sad story Jock, hope you can get it sorted.

Now just shoot the cat, you will feel much better!

If needed can recommend a good seat upholsters, but i guess that will make it more comfy for the cat also?!! :smt003
