Ive never recharged them when ive dropped new acid into the cells. Just leave it to react and settle for a while then put it in and use it. Although there's no harm in putting a charge on it and if youve got an optimate, now's the time to fit it and use it, not when the battery starts to die, it's too late then :smt001

I've been told by the battery shop I use that it's better to give them a charge before fitting them, even with a so-called 'dry charged' battery. Since the batteries I've bought from them over the years have been better than those bought elsewhere I follow their advice!
