Woman Wanted

For want of something better to do, I was looking on the government website to see if I qualify for a bus pass / winter fuel allowance. Here is the rule for a man to qualify for a bus pass:
Men born after 5 April 1950 (that's me - but only just)
"If you're a man born after 5 April 1950, you'll become eligible when you reach the pensionable age of a woman born on the same day"
So, it seems I need to find a woman born on the same day (as what - I'm not clear), and when I reach the pensionable age of that woman (what?), I can have her bus pass. I do hope she doesn't mind.
There is a bus pass calculator on the web site and the answer is 6th January 2011, so I've missed it. What was the question?
Having not travelled on a bus for many years, I can't get terribly excited about this. Roll on the better weather so I can get out more.

I qualify for a bus pass - but last time I travelled on a bus it was so terrifying, I haven't applied for it.

She's called Doreen and lives in Peterborough with her pet Labrador, Gordon. Unfortunately she can't spare her bus pass as she uses it daily to visit her sister, Edna who lives on the other side of Peterborough.
She suggests you to move to one of the few towns that allows motorcycles to use the bus lanes and then you can have all the advantages of the bus but on a means of transport that is infinitely preferable.

Aren't we all technically of an advanced age though Paul? I pretty sure I don't know anyone who gets younger as the years go on, although I do know a couple who have become more retarded, but that's nothing to do with the passing of time!

How can we know you don't have 'em now?
I think proof is required.
