Hi

I've just purchased a headlight unit that turns out to be an EU one from Pro Motorcycle Salvage, i've returned the unit to them with a letter asking for a refund but they have refused delivery of the returned unit back to them, I'm getting fobbed off from the people in the office, luckily i paid by credit card so has anyone else been in the same boat and claimed from the credit card company under section 75 of the Credit Consumer Act 1974

I've read the Headlamp' thread in the Falco section so feel i have a case under the 'not fit for purpose' clause

Contact your card company, i'm sure they'll sort it for you.
Had a similar problem with Talk Talk, taking money from my account for something i'd not agreed to.
The bank put it back in my account the next day, and claimed it back from Talk Talk.
You should be covered with a credit card.

Or.. Just give me an address and we'll go and have a little chat (if not stupidly far away..lol..).

Get hold of your credit card company, tell them what's going on. You're protected on items over £100, so may not be covered.

Did you buy direct or via ebay? If via ebay, start a dispute.

Thanks

Was originally Ebay but had to pay credit card so went direct not through Ebay, luckily/unluckily it was over £100 so qualifies for me to go through credit card hopefully.

Not a great company to deal with going to speak to the salvage people today but don't hold out much luck with them

EDIT 20/01...still being fobbed off!

Ah yes, well consulted Trading Standards and they said i had a case but went down the 'Visa' route, the company Pro Salvage Direct were absolutely awful to deal with, continued to get fobbed off, no tact...would not recomend, never had a reply from them!

Luckily they gave the same treatment to Visa and wouldn't respond to them either, i'd couriered the headlamp twice, send 4 letters and two faxes!...nothing!

It's still kind of ongoing, Visa did credit the money back to us last month and are chasing after the companies bank to get the money from them so they said it still could go pear shaped if the company disputes the story, but they can't get any where with them...so looks okay at the mo so we're keeping our fingers crossed

Pro Motorcycle Salvage are on Ebay and having gone through this experience i would heartily avoid them

...thanks for asking BTW :smt002
