Sat in a hotel in Innsbruck, absolutely tons of the stuff outside. Gatwick have the cheek to say that they can't open because they have a couple of inches of the stuff :smt013

How bizarre, we've got about 2", went over towards Chester and Wirral yesterday and there's little more than a dusting.

A good covering of good quality snow in Coventry. Think this stuff will be around for a while yet. Came down quite quick and compacts nicely.. Ideal for skiing, but I have no ski's..lol.. :smt003

Yep a good couple of inches .... minor compared to many parts of the land but it has caused enough chaos.

The first of it came down Friday morning ..... and they had chosen not to grit the main route in to the city from the M6/M69 - including the area around the main hospital - the one with A&E. Complete gridlock from before lunch 'till I'm not sure when.
Usual commute time to/from work is 5-10 mins ..... took me almost 2hrs to get home.

The ambulances were struggling big-time to get through.

What sort of numpty decides that the roads they won't bother to grit the routes to the hospital - particularly those to the motorway??

Idiots.

The main problem with Friday's helping was the rain before hand. Heavy enough to wash most of the salt n' shite off the roads. Then it snowed, settled and the gritters didn't get out in time.. by the time they did get out, the roads were already at a standstill, so what's the point..lol..

Couple of inches here, more postponed customers, less pay for me :-(

On the up side, I did Manage to get Debz with a snowball last night that went in through a small gap in the car window, hit her in the side of her head and then rolled down into her top.

Yeh and did you see the full eclipse of the moon. It happened about 7.30am. Clear skies here it was amazing. First time it's coincided with the winter solstice for 300 and odd years - Made the druids happy :smt001
