My daughter lives out in the country along a very bendy and hilly road, and almost didn't get home last night as the council have stopped gritting their road! So I was wondering if these might be the answer.

I posted a link to these the other day.
I haven't used them myself but do like the look of them. check out youtube to see them at work. They look good.

Yes I've seen the vid but that's just advertising - doesn't seem to be much feedback about although, as you'd expect with the weather, stocks appear to be running low.

A couple of guys at work have used them and rate them quite highly. Not too difficult to put on, although that depends on how much clearance there is between the tyre and the wheel arch. They need removing once your back on tarmac or they will shred quite quickly. Light and easy to carry around. That's their feedback anyway and I'm tempted myself.

I think the ambulance service use them, read that somewhere so couldn't confirm it personally. Seem like a good idea if you're going to be driving on snow for a while.

Vauxhall offer them as an official accessory, which says a lot, and 'Which' liked them.
Only recommended for use below 50 mph, but would you do more on snow?

All my daughter needs is to be able safely to get up and down the icy hills near her home! It's never been a problem in previous years but the council took them off the gritting list.
However she has won a battle to get the council to grit the road, well done Rose!
