If this further piece of proposed Eurosh1te becomes law

That's the Falco crowd f**ked, then

Yes, I know it would only be for new bikes, but you can't miss an opportunity to wind the sub-Mille crowd up! :smt019

and now we know why the futura production was stopped - all those aftermarket pipe and zimmer racks would have killed the market.....

Through their suppoort for FEMA (The Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations) http://www.fema-online.eu/
which they were instrumental in starting, they got it stopped last time it was mooted.

I'm a passionate believer that every motorcyclist who loves the freedom of the road, and the freedom to modify his ride, should support one of the riders' rights organisations.

Don't worry I am sure they will be even handed and apply this to cars first.
So no fancy wheels, modified stereos with extra amps and base boxes in the boot, no more fat exhausts that are not BS or EU stamped anyway, (because plod could not check for stamps under a car, he will just look at the drainpipe stuck out the back and say you're nicked), nor more modified dump valves, not even the ones that chirp or whistle, no more K&N filters or chipped ECUs or fancy lowered suspension, or uprated shock absorbers, (Not even cheap replacement shocks on your old banger), or V6/V8 engines shoehorned into Escorts.
Good news is .......................

Everybody just gets to drive a Prius!
(with absolutely no upgraded electric motor.)
:smt009

Oh and absolutely no chopping up an old VW to make a Trike, (they should always have been based on bikes anyway!), then again no more specials or kit cars of any type!

In the words of the late Otis Redding -

What a wonderful world it would be!

Our next door neighbour built a kit car, then he wanted to change the engine which meant also rebuilding some of to squeeze the 3 litre lump in - he had to rush to get it finished before he moved to Oz cos he wouldn't be able to change it once there, the changes had to be notified and accepted here before he went !

Also I believe there are no bike trikes in Oz, the frames have to be built from scratch and are mostly the 'phoenix' type with WV engines - just what I don't like, good job I'm not moving there.

Not quite - there are bike trikes here. They're just in the minority compared to the VW powered things. I actually have a photo somewhere of a Kwak Z1300 converted into a trike.

I was just at a company get together thing in Cairns and one of the guys from the McKay office rides a Goldwing trike, but has had others. So there's hope for you yet BG, you could come on down if you wanted too.

That looks like a real Trike to me, very nice.
Although my favourite is still a metalic Blue V-Max that used to come to Willingham Woods.
