ok folks, bear with me....

now looking at fitting a switch to a light in the work shop

I am ignoring the earth lead for this - I can see where that bugger goes.... - the terminal inside the switch marked earth!

I have two cables - one from the power, one from the light

both cables are the same - one brown lead, one blue lead

(Brown for live, Blue for neutral)

I have a switch which i want to use

it has three terminals - one marked COM one marked L1 and one marked L2

So - what goes where?

I am guessing that Power brown goes to COM

I am also guessing that Light Brown goes to L1

So - Both Blue leads connect to L2?

that correct?

You won't be using L2 unless you have a 2-way switch arrangement.

I've got one for you too.

I've cut my little finger. I think I should clean it with cold water and then put a plaster on it.
I'm guessing that to finish the job properly I should then sever my head with a chainsaw?

i ran the question by a friend of mine - he popped over and sorted stuff out for me

- another friend popped in - he wet himself as he gets me to rewire assorted bikes and trikes for him - but thats easy - only two wires - none of this neutral bollocks....
