Being of the large cuddly size, well okay i'm fing fat, I need proper man sized leathers but am not too sure how to relate standard clothe sizes to leather sizes.
If I take a 44 inch waist denim jeans what would that be in leathers either 1 piece or 2 piece ?

Dunno if the measuring charts on this page (near bottom) will be of use..

Those guys made my race leathers by the way. Not bad and tailor make to suit the rider

I usually look for "Mark F" which is one up from a "Mark E" (marquee) :smt003

Have been wondering the same myself. Was thinking about 'modifying' some normal jeans by sewing knee and arse pads in with a zip at the back for my jacket.. The kevlar jeans are around £100.. Much prefer jeans, but know they're of no use at all if the worst happens.. :smt009

I cant afford to buy brand new or even close to it so was going to trawl through evil bay (hence needing to sort out sizes first).
I still have my 5 year old Akito leathers but am wondering if they are like helmets and "go off" over time ?.
They are always cleaned and fed each year and stored lying flat in a drawer.

:smt002 The guides should show you where to measure, so you know what to ask the seller i guess. Dunno.

As for them going off, stitching can rot, especially using leather food, depends on the stuff used i guess. I normally pull at the stitching now and again to see if it's deteriorated. rather find out before throwing myself down the road..

Must admit i usually wear jeans. Dont bother with leather trousers unless im going for a 'propper' spin. If im just poppin 20 mins up the road (pub etc) than i'll stick with my draggin jeans. I have once come of in these on the ZX. No broken bones as it was a slide, which is a good thing as there is no impact protection in them, but appart from some bruising and what looked like carpet burn. My legs were fine. Not a drop of claret. Came of the SV a few years back. light 20mph bend. In nornal jeans. My thigh ended up lookin' like a hamburger.

/nurse head on

Always proper gear

I have nursed people who didn't - skin grafts on hips etc are never easy

And no, I would not wear draggin jeans...

Spend more time in Hood jeans than leather.
Recommend em highly, especially fully armoured.

Most of the time I wear leather or textle jacket plus either my work trousers or a pair of normal "£5 from Tescos" jeans.

The leather trousers come out when I go for a proper ride. TBH they are totally impractical for going to work or when using the bike as just a means of transport on local journeys to do something or other when you arrive.

I tend not to make a habit of falling off - it seems to be a good thing to do.
