So do I sell Frankie, probably only get around £1400, give up biking altogether or use the money to buy something older but easier to maintain and thus cheaper and bank the rest.
Thing is I am not sure I want to give up biking and trackdays but if I did I would probably try and get some sort of pitcrew job to make up for it...I just dont know, its all a bit too confusing.

Well my two penneth would be to keep the bike. You'll be financially better off for a month or two, but then you'll be back to square one but with no Falco.. I know a few people who have sold up because of money worries only to be more depressed about it to then get deeper in to the red by buying another bike.. Vicious circle. I've been in a similar situation, but selling the bike(s) never crosses my mind.
I hope you can find a solution that works well for you.

Keep it.
Better to run an old friend of a bike into the ground than to miss that bike after selling it and end up losing money running an old nail into the ground instead. Less pain in all ways. Plus with a bit of cunning you can run it on a shoestring anyways.
Got any bling on it? swap it back to standard non bling and use the money from selling the bling stuff to pay for the service items.
If you put a few quid aside a month, or sell something bling, you can get Nooj's all year biker spray treatment done on the bike before the winter sets in and that will help with running it thru the nastier weather when the salt starts to get put on the road.

Will, I think he has an RSV but the same logic applies. If youre not going to get a lot for it your going to hard pressed to find a better bike for less money. The balance between a good bike you know and cheaper model can quickly be consumed by a fault or two that you need to put right to get it up to scratch.
Lay off the track days for a bit and don't spend what you don't have to. Things turn around overtime if you hang in there.

Definitely keep it, it'll help you stay sane in the long run if you keep it.

Keep it and run the fekker into the ground, go on I dare you.
I reckon these axes are about as bulletproof as you get, so why change and after all it's only a bunch of plastic and metal.

Everyone I know who's parted with their bike for 'sensible' reasons has ended up getting another one!

More or less what I was going to say at the beginning of the thread.
I don't think there is any such thing as an ex-biker, certainly not a happy one.

If I remember it was a form of neutering for your GT.. after it tried to bite your leg off in a garden somewhere.

Well after having a pretty big row with the Mrs over things biking, I spent one night sleeping in the office and one night in the car. Seems she thought that the sale of the bike and associated kit was my grand finale, the money from the sale was going into the bank to pay some bills ........however for now I am keeping the bike.
