Please pass my thanks on to those that helped out.
I've joined a couple of tractor forums but they are particularly difficult to search - at least for a fairly unknowledgeable newbie like me.

I've found this a good source of info in the past. Quite a busy forum.

In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Have a look at http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/forum/index.php - anything with a motor, you'll find someone on there who knows about it! And they're all complete nutters!D-Rider wrote: I've joined a couple of tractor forums but they are particularly difficult to search - at least for a fairly unknowledgeable newbie like me.

Why have any normal barrow when you can have one with an engine on it
It's called a '"Tubo Truc Trakta" and was built in Wales in the mid 1950's. From what I can gather, it used to belong to the Coventry Corporation's Parks & Cemeteries department (TBC). It boasts a 2hp BSA 120cc single cylinder side valve engine, a 3 speed (with reverse!) Albion gearbox and cable operated clutch. The handle doubles as the clutch and brake lever.. Quite a clever little thing really.. It's all most too simple to work..lol.
Plan is to restore to a reasonable condition (i'm not going to throw loads of cash at it!), use it for a while or even donate it to a museum, maybe even a preserved railway.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

I love this pic I took at Aberdare Road Races - this bloke was given an 18cc motor cos his mate was going to throw it away - he took it home cos he was sure he could find some use for it - so he made a paddock bike! So much cooler than a scooter!
