A two part question this....
1... what do we call the little icon thingies that some websites apply to your bookmark. ie. Tesco use a red T ; RSVR have a sort of chequered flag ; Metcheck have a stylised rising sun. This icon also shows in the url address bar.
2.... can we have one?
Oh go on.........
............. please

easy enough to do - they are a small graphic file with a specific name that is in the root directory of the index file

it's easy to do, like has been said. either dropping the image in the root( correct sort of file name), or putting the link in the right place in the header code for the site

http://www.html-kit.com/favicon/
Save the resulting icon to somewhere you can find it. (favicon.ico)
to manually enable it, do the following in IE
1. Save RS / ARS to links.
2. Ensure your links bar is showing,
3. right click over the IE icon.
4. Select Properties and click 'change Icon'
Find that icon you just created, select it, click save.
Et Voila. Youve formatted your HDD..

just kidding, the icon will show for your RS / ARS link..

I do like the idea of having a session whereby it's opened up for the creative peeps to design one.
Yaay!! Create an RS Icon! (hard to do one for RS one for ARS.. unless done manually by yourself as listed above)
Something Swish.. exciting.. clever... cool...
Hmm.. Sounds like a Triumph..

I have absolutely no idea what it's supposed to be, but my browser has put this icon next to my bookmark for this site:
... however, unless anyone can tell me what it's supposed to be, I think we could do with a better one !

the faveicon is actually very small - so is hard to make one that is good - I seem to recall it is 60x60??
