No I don't remember it .... though isn't that Howard in his younger days on the Triumph?..... (just kidding :smt002 )

Even a bubble car makes an appearance about 3 mins in.

I have to say that in my view the advised road positioning is awful - far too far over to the left - you're less visible to other motorists, have a poorer view of the road past parked cars and traffic, less options for taking avoiding action and also to easy to get squeezed by other traffic.

There's a Ford Corsair in the film and that was in production from 1964 - 1970

So has to be mid sixties i say.

Just got back off hols tonite!
Think I drove or owned many of the cars, but only ever had a 350 Matchless single, (Briefly!). As for the Tiger Cub, sorry but I only had a Triumtph 650 twin Andy, (Tiger 110), but my best mate, who I still ride with, started on a Tiger Cub, as he was only 5 foot tall when he was 16, so he could not get on anything bigger.
Just a serious thought though, how the hell do you keep the power on riding a 250 single with your right hand stuick out that long.
Seem to remember, it was a bit like the slowing down signal, hand off throttle, stick your hand ourt, slow down too much , hand down, open throttle, hand out again........... REPEAT.
How good it was to get my first Jap bike with indicators, (and not as much engine braking, Suzuki T350 Rebel 2 stroke about 1975 I think).

P.S. never drove a bubble car but had a ride in one, and a Meschersmidt, which was really hairy, (the 3 wheeler sports coupe version not the fighter plane)
Ooops nearly forgot, I did drive a Berkley 3 wheeler sports. Great fun, like a minature D Type Jag with a fibre glass body and a single wheel at the back driven by 328cc Villiers 2 stroke.

Will that do Andy?

How come they're the same age as kids, but Tom grows up to be 40 and his friend doesn't get past 12?

It's easy really, as I mentioned earlier a Tiger Cub is so small that nobody above the size of a normal size 12 year old can sit on one and not look ridiculous.
Bit late cos I've been on hols, but nice to see you back on the site mate, hope the job front turns out OK.
