Hmmm... seems very odd to me. I believe you would still have to prove that the motorycle (plant and equipment) is used in the production of taxable income... so a plumber for example would have a hard time justifying this. I would like to see a quote from a more reputable Accounting firm too...

Could be of use to Instructors, despatchers, and such like but I can't see it being much good to a window cleaner.

Depends if you fitted it with a bucket on the back?

As a fully qualified old fart, I can remember the times when window cleaners (and a lot of other trades) used combinations. Both my uncles had them for their businesses.

So if you can stanbd the cries of "Morning Grommitt" get one!

As an even older fart, I can remember when nearly everybody on the street had one, for work or family transport. A day out in the country (not very far out in the country), involved husband driving, large wife on the pillion of the Panther 600 single or A10 Gold Flash and four kids crammed into the double adult Watsonian Side Car.
Possibly with oldest son following behind on a 125 Bantam.

This will probably bring in a snide comment from Andy, but I took my test at 16 on a 500 Velocette Venom Combo with a sidecar chassis and a long box on the side, bit like a cheap coffin. I put a load of bricks in it for ballast to stop it tipping over on left handers.
Had previously been used by a window cleaner , who used to strap his ladders on top of the box and before that a joiner, who used the box for all his tools etc..
P.S. Got home from the test, got my tools out, took the sidecar off and was out on the Venom solo the same night.

Nursing assistant by day and by night an Ann Summers rep/manager but do a lot of my deliveries on the bike :P
