I collected my new car this afternoon, and I am well pleased. :D

X-Type Jag, brand new with all the bells and whistles in ultimate black, and as I am paying for it myself, I can have the spec I want rather than what I am told, which previously was the new Mondeo Zetec.

I was going to hang on for a 59 plate, but I was offered such a good deal if I took it on the 09 plate, it was hard to refuse. Worked out at around £7,000 cheaper than the Mondeo Zetec, and about £10,000 cheaper than the Titanium X.

I don't know how to post pictures, but then I am sure you all know what a Jag looks like!

Up to having had a Titanuim X Mondeo 2.2 TDCi for the last 3 weeks I would have agreed with you M8

But the truth is; it puts virtually every car I have driven to date to shame. Superb in every aspect to be honest. I'd recommend anyone to have a test drive, they are that good,

£10k difference to Jag with a nice spec is staggering though, glad I haven't had to pay for mine. It's a rental whilst me new Audi A6 is being made

Falco, having had a Mondeo for the past 18 months, had I not driven the Jag, I would have agreed apart from the fact that I got fed up getting wet every time I opened the tailgate after it had rained, and that after about 12 months things started falling off, but despite these faults and there were more, I really considered getting another.

And reverse parking, without sensors, what a pig ! :smt009

However, with all new models there are teething problems which are normally rectified over time, so I asumed that any problems would have been sorted by the time I got the new one.

But the Jag really is amazing and I really could not believe the difference in price for a car that has everything as standard which you have to pay extra for on the Ford.

I looked at all the major makes, Audi, VW, Vauxhall (God that new Insignia is horrible), Mazda, Honda, Toyota, Citroen, Renault, hell I even looked at the Lexus IS220.

Value for money wise, the Jag was a bit of a no brainer :smt003

Couldn't agree with you more, To my shame I've almost forgotten how to park a car without sensors helping me. The prevoius rental I had was the Insignia SRI and although the looks are questionable I didn't think it was too bad until you got up to a decent speed. Then you discovered the steering was so light the slightest touch or correction had you heading for the kerb (or ditch).

The Jag does look superb though and £10k!!!!!!! You can buy an awful lot of stuff for £10K
