apart from birthdays and such like,tomorrow at 10.00 am the inquest into ross's death and the five other victims is being held.which is i feel is the last big fence i've got to get over.all five family's are going to be there including the family of mr,mrs bray who ross was in collision with.i do'nt know how there going to react, but i have to understand there in pain to.no anger or blame as been directed at me from any of ross's friends parents which i think is really brave and big of them all, as i've seen for myself the pain there in.there is still a difference between the witness's statement and the police forensics so i do'nt know how that will be sorted,i do'nt know perhaps it wo'nt.perhaps when tomorrows over i can try and look foward and try to live again,i'll let you know the outcome.

Yes - dig deep Ian. You sound to me to be as prepared as you can be. I know it won't be easy but at least it's the last of these hurdles - other than the personal ones.

I can only echo everything the others have already said Ian.
Keep strong and try and get through it. Things may not all go as you hope because emotions will be high, but it will be better after tomorrow. We'll all be thinking about you.

Hope you cope well. Grief can manifest itself in strange ways especially in high stress situations like this, so it's difficult to be fully prepared.

Hopefully this should remove a degree of pain by closing down some of the uncertainty.

thanks to everyone who has sent me kind thaughts and words over the past weeks. yesterday was pure hell as i found myself in a trance and having to force myself to snap out of it to listen to what was being said.
the witness was called first who is in her thirties and deaf with her translater.she went on to say that she was travelling from bawtry after a meal and was aware of the car behind her from ollerton rounderbout. she said she was travelling at 57 mph and had slowed down a number of times to let my son pass but he did'nt. the stretch from ollerton to where ross died is double white lines all the way.as both cars came out of a dip where the double white lines break she said she was aware of the car coming towards her (the road at this point is flat straight and lit) and that she saw ross pull out to over take and she thaught he was going to fast and did'nt have enough time to get back in, lost control and went into an anti clockwise spin on the opposite side of the road hitting the oncoming car head on. when asked if she was sure about which way the car spun she answered yes.the road at this point is wide enough to put four cars side by side and there were no other cars on the road.
the officer who lead the crash investigation and has 30 yrs experience in his field started by informing the court of the road conditions on the night which were clear and dry,then went on to say that because of the marks on the road that ross had completed is overtake and got back into his lane,but for what ever reason had lost control went in to a clockwise spin and hit the car head on where they both burst into flames. his veiw was that ross was travelling slightly faster than the car he hit which was estimated to have been doing around 60 mph and that ross had'nt contravened any road traffic regulations.
i do'nt know but something does'nt ring right about the wittnes's statement and i'm not looking to blame someone else, but on hearing the evidence the coroner returned a verdict of accidental death. i can't begin to tell you what that means to me and now for ross's sake i'm going to try and move on.

I guess that's the best verdict you could expect anyway as the coroners court doesn't fix blame even if there was any, just the cause of death. Don't forget that the witness would have been nervous about giving evidence anyway which might be why she sounded odd.

I'm glad that part is over as the waiting must have been awful. Don't forget we're all here and will be whenever needed.
