That was horrendous! I've just got in from work having done 17 miles along the A343 from Andover to Newbury in possibly the worst riding conditions I've ever encountered.
Imagine riding along a windy river with a gritty, stoney bed, sometimes just stones and bits of tree, sometimes flooded up to your axels, in the dark, at about 4*C with occasional fog, gusts of wind continually knocking you off line and the odd car every few miles and a couple of HGVs driving at you coming the other way.
Suffice to say, I am NOT looking forward to doing it again tomorrow.

ermmm isn't that the point of being a REAL rider? you could always put it to bed and bring it out from April to Sept
(like the rest of my fairweather friends/bikers)
seriously.... take it easy, sounds rough...but fun!

Doesn't sound like any kind of fun to me!!!! Glad I have a car to go to work in tomorrow - not just cos it's drier, useful things like a wheel at each corner, and windscreen wipers!

Ahhh Prestatyn... reminds me of a joke... what was the punch-line... Ere - press dat in? Anyone remember the rest of the joke?
Weather here is about 12 degrees and sunshine/showers, so I'm contemplating and excuse later on.
Nooj - the ride you described is similar to the ride I had last June down the Via Gelia (Derbyshire) when the rain/floodwater washed the seals and grease out of my rear wheel bearing. Not nice on the M1 in the slow lane, wobbling around trying to figure out WTF has gone wrong with the handling!

Anyone remember the Ludo / Llandudno joke while we're at it?
