Best Buy Sat Nav for the Car?

Hi All - I'm looking to buy a sat nav for my wife. Don't want blue tooth connectivity or other fancy bells and whistles, just a straight forward easy to use and reliable navigation tool. Anything between about £80 to £120.... or do I need to pay more?
Any experience or recommendations would be useful. Thanks

Tom Tom gets my vote. Mine's ace. Missus understands how to use it, Kids can use it for check navving Mum when she's driving to somewhere she allegedly knows.

I'd go for tomtom aswell, good backup and seem reliable (although i dont have one, but a couple of mates do)
What you shouldnt go for is the cheapo ones on special offer. My dad bought some crap make (rac's own?) and its ssoooooo slow to react to keypress and stuff. Like an out of sync movie

Yes wife and map doesn't work. There's a basic probem when your driving north to south and left on the map becomes right in real life

etc etc.
Some good deals on TomTom and Garmin Nuvi at the mo.

Bought the wife a Garmin NuVi 255i last year, and it is v.good.
Wife and maps... mine is good at map reading. I remember a couple of years ago we were wanting to drive from Assisi to Fermo in Italy. She told me a route, but I punched in the destination into the TomTom. Result... after two hours of her saying "you are going the wrong way", I ended up 85 Km north of where I wanted to be! Result - egg on face and lots of smug-sounding noises from the passenger seat. I have since let her have her own way with directions. Sad but true.

Tom Tom or Garmin should work very good. Just make sure that whatever you buy check if the maps are the latest version. Some GPS on sale have old maps.

I have a Garmin Zumo 400, was £199 and I got a free update for maps, it works in the car and as a bonus it can be fitted on a bike and is waterproof, touch screen as well.
I love it

I got a TomTom XL Europe traffic thing for christmas. Has all the europe maps on and a plug in aerial so it gets live traffic updates on your route then takes you round them if you want it to. I do about 800 miles a week and since I've had it, haven't been caught in a traffic jam. Its bloody amazing! Think they're on offer in Halfords now.
