Hi all, This year my summer holidays actually coincide with the summer school holidays. One of the reasons we moved over here was to spend time in Europe as a family (been twice on the bike )
so now I'm looking for ideas for a family holiday in France. First thoughts are Eurocamp or the like. Anyone had an expericence or recommendations?

How old are your family? I've not had any personal experience of Eurocamp, but believe they are kiddy-friendly, if a bit regimented. I've camped lots of times in the Camping Municipal that you'll find in nearly all towns and quite a few villages. They're good value and normally well stocked with amenities.

The Michelin Camping Guide is generally regarded as the reference guide for Camping in France, but most of it is in French. It got mixed reviews on Amazon:

Have done a couple of Eurocamp holidays in the past - one in France and one in Holland.

Both were pretty good and I would go again - I've always found European camp sites a lot better than anything in the UK.

My boy is 9. Don't speak the lingo either so hoping for an english friendly holiday.

Eurocamp's probably your best bet then...

Depends where you want to go. I haven't penetrated very deep into France but have spent a number of very enjoyable holidays (via bike and car) at an excellent campsite at La Haye du Puis in Normandy. You have to take your own tent or hire one of their chalets, they have a swimming pool and small playground but nothing like the facilities of Eurocamp, but the owner speaks good English.
