Well you'll remember I wasnt around then.. however topical for yesterday linked with that RIP DD points me to the news that Dave Dee died.. (oh how poetic that is! wonder if he ever saw that one coming?)
Dave Dee was in Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich and the BBC homepage stated they had a famous song he cracked a whip in called Legend of Xanadau.

So thats my answer!

Check this one

Fell to the red room because she was there, uh-huh-huh-huh
A scarlet woman, she got me in fear, yeah, yeah, yeah
She said, do all those things that you do to me
You know what I mean, boy
Do all those things that you do to me, yeah
Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly

christ - I remember being backstaage at the roayl in liverpool watrching the leadsinger of this band

Ian Astbury of the Cult
Love Removal Machine

at the time he was going out with one of my housemate's sisters

wierd bugger, but quite charming - liked beecham's cold powders a lot at the time :)

(How wierd ? well - Pete Burns was there and it was entertaining....)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

hmmm

this was covered by my all time favourite singer :)

You...
Touch me...
I hear the sound
Of mandolins
You...
Kiss me...
With your kiss
My life begins
You're spring to me
All things
To me

(think on my user name for the clue!)

The Bowie clue is obviously not enough. More help please.

Can't say that I'm up on my Bowie though so make it a strong clue :smt003

Rawhide ?????

But seriously I don't have a clue. Never been a Bowie fan I guess.

Anyone else? ( unless Samray has given the answer - I don't understand his last post at all :smt017 )

Oh. I was close enough?
Try this then.
Girl by the whirlpool
Lookin' for a new fool
Don't follow leaders
Watch the parkin' meters
You must recognise the poet, but which song?

Don't know the name of the song but is it that one where he holds up big lyric cards in an old video and peels them off roughly in time with the singing ???

Nah, thought not :smt009
