Yes you can, you just need to be on the bike

Thats why they don't like 'em

The owner of the car is quoted in the press today as saying that Hammond was partially to blame for the accident.
Quoted from yahoo 'cause I couldn't figure out how to put a link without my login details in it.
In The Sun newspaper, Colin Fallows implied
Hammond was to some extent responsible by "failing to adhere to the briefing".
He said: "Mr Hammond had a puncture and carried on with the tyre deflated", adding he "stood on the brakes" after the blowout.
Mr Fallows added: "Once these cars are in motion you don't touch the brakes. You stay on the prescribed line and should always be aware of the unexpected.
"By failing to adhere to the briefing, what would have been a controllable incident ended in a major accident."
Personally I'd like to put him in that situation and see what his reaction his........... no-one can say they wouldn't stomp on the brakes once the oh sh!t mentality kicked in.
He also seems to be contradicting himself........... "carried on with the tyre deflated" "once these cars are in motion youi don't touch the brakes".............. erm how could he not carry on and not stand on the brake?
Or he may mean something else and I'm being dim.

Even more interesting is that according to last nights programme, he (Richard Hammond) said he hadn't got any brakes to stomp on, "just an engine kill and parachute release" were the controls he had.
Mind you if he couldn't manage to stop that car perfectly within the 0.4 of a second he had to react at 288mph, he obviously wasn't cut out to be driving it in the first place!!!!!!!

Methinks the owner is just trying to talk himself out of any culpability.
Sadly He just made himself look stupid.
I sat wondering how many runs the tyres have been on and whether there's a limit before they have to be changed. Who made the tyres? Anyone know?

Aye, the owner of the car is being a bit silly. Reckons the tyre was punctured before he went out. B*llocks! BBC health and safety wouldn't have let him anywhere near the car if that were the case. I think it was just a bit unfortunate (hell of a crash like!). Mind he looks a lot older now doesn't he?
