Went to Willingham last night.

#1 Post by HowardQ » Thu Jul 24, 2008 12:40 pm

Went to Willingham last night.
Actually saw two other Falcos plus Okamoto on his Tuono.
A 2000 black one I've seen before plus a early red one , (bloke with his wife, she was on a black and yellow CBR6).
Anybody on here?
After here went to the South Leverton Bike Meet at the Plough Inn, as suggested by Okamoto, thanks mate. Been meaning to go for some time.
Was really worth the trip, even if some of the old bikes had gone when we got there. How often do you see things like a Brough Superior on the road plus a 1948 HRD, and a later Vinnie, dozens of early Brit bikes, Goldies, Bonnies, Nortons, A10s etc., plus early Guzzies, newer Laverdas, etc., alongside things like a Honda CB1100R and an LC250.
Last time I saw Okamoto he was drooling over a race rep Rocket 3.
I couldn't make my mind up between this and the similar "Percy Tait" Trident. Both looked and sounded superb. Think the Trident edged it for me.
Certainly well worth the trip, thanks for the reminder Oka.

very nice

my dad bought a silver jubilee bonnie new and i used to love riding that

wish we still had it - not to ride, but damn things are collectible !

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

mmmmm In one of the villages (Beenham) near where I used to live, there was a dealer that sold Rob North framed Tridents .... just like that. I sooo wanted one - but as a schoolboy on my CB175, I was never going to be able to afford to trade up.

Hi Howard, glad you liked the place :smt001

In good weather they all turn up so it's worth the detour on the way home eh :smt003
Yeah I was smitten by the tridents haha ...nothing like the sound of one on full song.

There was another Falco at Leverton ...a silver one just leaving as I arrived, the HRD belonged to my mate ...his son was on a Guzzi Le mans Mk1.
Like you say where else do you see this stuff apart from a show.
