Having travelled a lot of the world, it has always been a case of fly to the destination, pick up a car and make my way to the Hotel. However I have always fancied the idea of doing a cruise as you see a number of countries without having to unpack, you have extreme comfort and luxury and all your meals are included.

So, for the first week of December the wife and I will be cruising the Eastern Carribean visiting Mexico, Belize, and the Carribean Islands with the second week being the wifes shopping spree in Florida :roll:

We are going with Carnival sailing on the Carnival Glory which at 110,000 tonnes is quite a big boat and with balcony cabin, air fares, car hire for the second week, hotel in Florida, plus all our entertainment all in for £1100 each I am really looking forward to it

Anyone ever done a cruise? If so, I am genuinely interested to hear what you thought

Took a 6 berth cruiser out on the Norfolk Broads once.

We have just come back from a cruise in the Norwegian Fjords. Food was great, entertainment was ok but it is geared more for the older generation. Staff are very helpfull when you need them. You will be on a cashless system where they take your card details at the beginning of the cruise and give you their own card. You can always find out how much you owe at any time by visiting reception. Excursions can be costly or you can do it yourself and beat the rush.

We will do it again but not for a coulple of years. When we do cruise again it will be with Royal Carribean on one of the big ships.

Also, you do not need a window as you will look out of it once then leave your room. We will be on the lower decks next time.

Older generation suits me fine Only another 11 years until I get my free bus pass!
