So what do we think of Young Mr Wales out in Afghan? He does an important job out there, clearly that the MOD spent more than a few quid training him to do so why shouldnt we ask for a return on our investment?
Should he be out there? I personally think he should, it's his right as a Officer to go out with his men, just because his Nan is the Queen, why should that matter?
I do think he should be shot for the photoshoot on the Honda though.

He is a target, yes, but no more than any other Soldier was..
Until the point some fekker in the U.S. couldnt keep their bloody mouth shut.
I bet he's bloody furious that he's got to return home early. He's only short touring anyway and to be exposed like that and have to be pulled out must really pee him off. I'd be spitting nails.

End of the day he was no more of a target than any other soldier. What you have to remember is that Afghan is pretty much a conventional war which is all about people shooting at each other until one side or the other gives up, usually due to shortage of men or ammunition. This is completely different to Iraq where there is a distinct kidnap threat, not to mention IDF (indirect fire) ie Mortars and rockets which ensure that even in the middle of the main camps no-one is safe (trust me I have first hand experience) due to the indescriminate nature of said weapons.
Afghan is all about aggressive patrolling where any enemy you come across will just see a soldier and start taking potshots at him - they're not even going to stop and think he may be 3rd in line to the British throne.

I feel really sorry for the bloke - he said himself he's just an ordinary bloke. Well at least he would be if anyone would give him a chance. What a life, can't have a proper job or career just cos his brother's going to be king - and by the same token, he has zero prospects of his own cos he's No2.
At least he's had a chance to get out there and do what he's been trained to do.

If the lads shipped that bike back, they could make a fortune auctioning it off for Forces' charities..

I would hit him for being Hewitts love child and NOT actually having a claim to the throne... that aside, he seems quite a decent and normal kid
not everyone has a widows peak like that
hmmmm
