and that's not including the ones that aren't being reported. Don't know what is going on around here but 17 kids in one year have committed suicide and I drove past the funeral of a young early 20's lad from the village up the way from me yesterday who had hung himself from the stairs.
Is it Wales?
I've know a few driving instructors do the same around here too........

Witnessed an OAP jump off a bridge and a young lad being talked down from a bridge........ is it something in the water?

OMG! is that near where you live? Bridgend? just been reading about it in all my mags and saw on the news another one has happened.
What do you think? Is there some truth in the cult thing that certain sources of media are trying to blame it on?
scary whatever!

I think the police are following the internet thing......... tbh I have no idea. A friend thinks it is drug related 'cause there are a lot of drugs around ..........who knows, it is just very sad.

It's probably a lack of sheep.
Or Sleep
Or both.
I never did understand Suicide.
I mean, there's so many options to avoid it.

Samaritans, Help the Aged.. Smoking, Drinking, Prostitutional Lesbianism, Chocolate, Fast cars, a damn good Mills n Boon book, Watching The Muppets,....etc, etc. List goes on and on and as diverse as yer like.

There's always going to be something that will cancel out the desire to commit suicide.
I guess the key is finding it.. and quickly.

yes but if you're in the depths of suicide thoughts..... who the fek, that's a RATIONAL suicidal

is thinking, OK, I'll go read a mills and boon or phone the Sams?
AND btw, if their reason for suicide is debt, how are they going to afford a mills and boon let alone a fast car or prozzie?
huh? come on then......
AND again, mills and boon are more likely to be a reason lol

I tend to err on irrational at the best of times. Suicide would probably be the result of a rational train of thought and probably why I dont understand it.
They cant afford a Mills n Boon? BECOME a prostitutional lesbian, earn a few quid then on the way back stop off at the samaritans charity shop, buy an old Mills n Boon then go home and relax in a bath safe in the knowledge that theyve got laid, got paid, had a chat AND have a damn good read to take their mind off the whole sorry saga.
Ok then.. a Sven Hassell book instead. I recommend Monte Cassino.

Going back to the original point of the quantity..
It does smack of something 'underground' going on. Facebook, MySpace, Maybe it's something really far fetched like Electric Pylons. Ive a mate who was ill (as in properly) as a result of living under the shadow of a big electricity pylon. I could quite easily believe 'far out' theories.
Be interesting to find out what it is that's caused Bridgend to become the hub of the suicide universe all of a sudden.

There have been 6 suicides in our village of about 20 houses since I moved here.
I don't think my presence is a factor btw.
...and I don't intend adding to the number.
