why would anyone take the hit on a BRAND new car? surely its better to wait a few months and buy the car you want then? Let some other eejit lose the money... cos we all know you lose thousands the min you drive it from the showroom?
Gio you're nuts! hahahaha

Money being no object... I'm still not sure I would buy brand new... unless they had a 6 month old roller or bentley for sale

Aston aka Ford? Well if theyre anything like Volvo, (theyve got more Ford badges than Volvo ones on the current crop..check under the bonnets for proof!) Astons have Ford switchgear dont they?
I'd ne'er buy a new car nowadays. Only ever had one brand new one, never again

I bought a brand new car and have regretted it ever since. Only 'cause I was in a bit of a bind at the time and needed something asap. tbh there are very few cars around that I like and can afford so would go for an older one every time now. Esp. an old SRi Astra [think she was a MkII ] . I lurve those cars...... pity the thieves do too.

last time round I bought two ex lease cars at auction - one was 14 months old 11k miles and half list price, the other was 3 years old 40k miles and one third list price. They replaced cars bought new, and I swore then that I'd never buy another new one.

Motability cars go to auction after 3 years .... and some of them have only done 10 mph ... even on motorways.

Ex forces and Govt. cars are sold off fairly cheaply, as are patrol cars from the Police..
I did have a link or two to hand..but..well, I'll dig em out.

Never been able to afford a brand new car in my life, had a few new bikes over the years, lastly a 2004 cbr1000rr, gutted when i had to sell it 14 months later at a huge loss...
The last car i bought Aug 06 cost the most i've ever spent on a car almost 9k and it just ain't worth it, had it damaged sitting outside the house by some half witted council contractor, had it bumped in car parks, doors opened on the side of it, and dented, I'm sick of it; never again will i spend a load of money on a nice car,
So recently i bought an old runaround for £250, (one i know well) as long as it goes and is reliabile i'll stick to spending my hard earned on bikes instead, at least if it all goes tit's up it's probably gonna be my own fault for being an ass, which i can live with..
So if anyone wants a decently pretty quick car you know who to call

It'll be on sale very shortly without dents i hasten to add,

Well for Lig's satisfaction I'll comment
Our latest car wasn't bought new it was almost 2 years old (one reason being if it was new I'd be frightened to use it as it'd cost over 60k). The previous 4 cars we had were bought new and TBO as we keep our cars for many years depreciation isn't an issue. Of all the new cars we had the Rover 3.5 was the best (the old 2000 shape) it did nearly 200,000 miles in 11 years and the only thing I had to replace was the battery. Our last new car was an Astra, we'd still have it if it hadn't been demolished.
No I like new always have always will.
