We have an award winning chippy up here, daily (ish) fresh caught fish, secret batter and proper fat chips... tis great.... if you can stand the 2 hour queue in the summer to get them... not too bad in the winter, just about 40 mins lol
Their claim to fame is Prince William used to frequent it when he was at St Andrews Uni and Tom Hanks popped in for a visit cos his daughter is there..... still think there should be a fast queue for locals
Oh and we dont eat fish on a monday cos the boats havent been out and the fish isnt as fresh ;)

Not a big fan of fish - didn't eat it for about 10 years, after getting a 2" salmon bone stuck halfway down my throat

. Just started eating it again - but only on Fridays. Haddock, cod or hake, but you can keept the salmon and tuna

Culinary
Humans consume sea urchin ("roe") either raw or briefly cooked. Sea urchin "roe" isn't actually roe, but rather the organs that produce the roe (the gonads). Five strips of roe reside within the structure of the urchin, a yellowish or orange substance resembling a rather firm custard. Sea urchin roe is a popular food in Korean cuisine, and it is called "uni" in Japanese sushi cuisine. It is also a traditional food in Chile, where it is known as an "erizo", and highly appreciated in Spain. Apart from domestic consumption, Chile and a number of other countries export the sea urchin to Japan in order to meet its demand throughout the country. Traditionally considered an aphrodisiac, sea urchin "roe" has been found to contain the cannabinoid anandamide
So... (I'll be rude for a second) if you're not talking bollocks on a Friday, you're eating them?
Back to being polite.. What does it taste like? Is it..

Now there's a thought!
My club used to go to New Milton on the edge of the New Forest for a Fish n Chip run - haven't done that for ages, I must do something about that!
Love fish n chips but only if the fish is really really fresh! Best I've had are from the kiosk on Poole Quay on a Tuesday night and - the very best! from the kiosk nearest where the bikes meet in West Bay.

My nearest fish and chip shop is 40 miles away:(
Hence I'm a few pounds lighter now so not such a bad thing:)

Ooh, cod n chips from a decent chippy.
Fantastic, although these days I have to peel off most of the batter as I OD on fatty stuff really quick.
