Valentino Rossi Tax woes

#1 Post by Gio » Mon Aug 20, 2007 8:31 am

Seeing as Samray is telling me off :smt002 I'll transfer it here :smt003

Rossi can't even go fast enough to get away from the tax man at the moment.
The rather interesting point to this is Romano Prodi, an avid tax evader himself thinks its okay for government officials to be crooks but god help the rest.

The Italian government will lose anyway, he's domiciled here and pays UK tax.

And here's one of the reasons he's doing it

Here's some more info on what he's doing

No wonder he's going after Rossi, anything to take the publics eye off his negligence. He makes TB look a saint

Here's the start of it all IMO

Highly unlikely that he is domiciled here Gio - ordinarily resident , maybe. But to change your country of domicile requires effectively giving up any connection with your old country, even down to things like no club memberships, no bank accounts, no shares held there, no property.

And as I understand it, being resident here allows him to pay UK tax only on income earned in the UK, but that does not mean he automatically gets away with no tax on his non UK income.

I hope he doesnt get away with it.

:smt001

Avoiding paying tax affects all of us in the end, we all pay the bloody thing, all pay it on items we buy. Maybe if everyone payed tax 'straight up and down the line' instead of finding loopholes, we could all earn a decent wage, and keep the best part of it!!

And Gio before you say it :smt003 :smt002 :smt002

No I dont pay tax when Im on Ops. But you lot dont get f*cking shot at either! :smt002 :smt019 :smt019

You see things that aren't there nearly as often as you miss those that are. :smt005
