Memories I would rather forget!

I was reading an article this afternoon that pointed out that next week will be the 20th anniversary of Michael Ryan going beserk in Hungerford.
I still remember that day like it was yesterday, and I remember getting home and seeing the look on my wifes face when she realised that I had been there all day and it was my buddy Roger that had been killed (A traffic cop who gave his life trying to save others), and then all the commotion after Ryan had cecided to top himself, but it was thought that he had booby trapped his body.
I don't let it rule my life, far from it, but at the same time I can't get away from the fact that i was there in the thick of it and there is probably hardly a day when I don't give a passing thought to that warm August day in 1987, but I could do without the reminders
