Question? (not bike related)

Is there any value in old 33 rpm albums these days?

The wife and I have just gone through our record collection to try and make a bit more space in one of our cupboards, and we must be in the process of throwing out about 300+ albums and the same again in singles. Many of them date back to the early 70's :smt003

All are original issue, all in original condition, tastes are diverse with everything from the early Who to Abba, Elton John, Iron Maiden, Marilion, even the Bay City Rollers :smt017 :smt009 Which the wife has admitted to in her youth, and except for the BCR most have been replaced in our collection with CD's.

Anyone with experience of the market know if they have any value as it seems a shame to throw them out or give them away to the local charity shop

They buy bulk and individually

I was going to use them as opposed to Ebay the other month with a few of the Records we have. Sacked it in the end until I have more time, then I'll put ours on Ebay.

Apart from my very limited Edition W.A.S.P. 'F**k like a Beast' 12" picture disc..

Which I fully intend to keep

Have a look at their wanted list for starters!

Welll there might have been if you auctioned them as a job lot, but mentioning Elton John and Bay City Rollers you stuffed your chances. :smt002

TBO unless they're the pre release albums they aren't worth much.

Have you any white labels?

with one exception, I have every rare bowie album

the exception is the man who sold the world dress cover - I have the rest... my "genitalia" diamond dogs cost me a whole £1.50 from gillingham car boot sale LOL

all of them are in the Midland Bank vaults - with the exception of above, all first prints etc - worth about 2000 currently

somewhere my parents have a signed beatles single..... and wow I would like that bugger :)

Thanks for the advice and sites guys, I have had a look and there maybe so mileage in having a closer look.

Too be honest, my rare and valuable albums will be kept, for example I have The White album signed by all four as I knew George Harrison and John Lennon (George was a customer of mine, and John lived in Weybridge in St Georges Hill next door to my godparents) and it was George who arranged for Paul and Ringo to sign it for me! That will be one of my daughters inheritance, and it is in the same vault as my signed matchworn Pele shirt :smt003

I have a few other rare albums such a pre production copy of Deja Vu by CSN&Y and Band on the run by Wings so those won't be sold, but as you say it may be worth offering them to someone as a job lot.

Anyway, thanks again for the advice :smt003

:smt001 Did a bit more digging on the Wasp 12" I have.

Cost me 1.99 about 2 years ago, current value 25 quid on that Site... but they dont show it as a fold out Poster sleeve.. which makes mine even more valuable.. :smt003

Sorry, but any shirt that was once worn by God is beyond money :smt003

I was very lucky to aqquire it when I met the great man in person. Absolute gentleman and he found it quite funny when I bowed down before him :smt016 (how can anyone compare him with Maradona :smt017 personal opinion BTW)

If I have my way, I will wear that shirt when I eventually go to my grave :smt003

I have a match worn England U21 (might have been U23 back then) shirt signed by Kevin Beattie from when he used to play for Ipswich :smt017

Pair of Barry Sheenes gloves? He gave them to me after we had done some publicity work together!

As you might have gathered, I am a bit of a sucker for memorabillia :smt017 :smt006

Saying that, about collector's stuff, I happen to have a RiderSite T shirt signed by the 2001 (i think..long time since i looked) Kawasaki WSB riders :smt003 That in turn takes pride of place next to my signed poster of Mr G. Falappa which he kindly signed for me in the Ducati Enclosure at Brands WSB, 2001.

Little things I can look back on and smile at. Ive still got my RiderSite TEAM pass that accompanies the paddock passes I collected in 2001 as well. :smt001 That was before RiOT was 'RiOT' and was RiderSite Owners Team. :smt003
