Do you sleep well at night?

I don't normally because of my disability, and then I wake up aching and uncomfortable where I have seized up during the night.

Anyway, about 4 weeks ago, I purchased one of the memory foam mattress toppers from Bid TV for £45 instead of the normal £100 + and what a transformation

I can now get comfortable, no more aches and pains when I wake up, I actually sleep much better and it just makes our bed so much more comfortable.

The wife and I were so impressed, we managed to get one for our daughters bed as well, and even she has noticed a big difference to the point where she stays in bed even longer than she used to

Anyway, I digress, if anyone suffers from uncomfortabel nights and you can find a mattress topper at discounted or even full price, I can assure you that it is money well spent!

Yeah, me n the Missus are looking to get one as I havnt had a good night sleep in years. Always aching and feel more tired/groggy than when I went to bed.

Doesnt matter if Im sober or not either!

Out of curiosity, what thickness did you get? Ive seen 3 and 4 inch thick versions and we were unsure about the differences.

We have the 4 inch on our bed which is a King Size, and my daughters bed is 3 inches which is a double. To be honest I can't tell the difference, but then maybe I am becoming less sensitive as I stroll towards old age!

What I have also found a benefit, is that during the muggy nights of the summer (I know don't laugh

) I don't sweat as much as I do sleeping on top of a normal mattress, and believe me I feel the humidity at night, so that was an added bonus for me.

Always sleep like a log myself but the Mrs doesn't sleep well and gets a lot of back and neck pain - so, thanks, I'll pass the info on.

We've gone the whole hog and bought the bed and full mattress and pillows after spending a night at my sisters. I've never been so comfortable

Would also support this idea, we were condsidering a memory foam bed, but had heard good things about the Topper. Thought we'd try one first and it is a big improvement. Have suffered with arthritis for years and for 100 odd pounds this is a big improvement. Some relatives have also tried them and all reports are good, well worth a try I reckon.

Interesting thread, I've been thinking about getting one of the toppers (as the full mattress is a little pricey) but hadn't heard any verdicts - think I'll go ahead now! I'm another with arthritis.

Got ours today and will test tonight.

Anyone else whose bought one notice the smell!?!?

A very chemical smell that, although is fading a little, seems rather strong! I imagine its some kinda dust mite, etc, repellant but I reckon I'll have a headache before morning from it!

Funny you should say that, yes we had it on both ours and my daughters

Suffice to say that once we had aired it for an hour or so, put the sheets on and went to bed, there was no smell that I could notice at all.

The wife brought the full mattress and base last year (costly

I could have got 3 powercommanders instead) but suffice to say I get a BRILLIANT nights sleep EVERY night. It hugs your body so well. There is no gap in the arch of your back when lying down, kind of like a built-in lumbar support. Highly recommended.

See, now we went out last year and bought a new mattress. I was going to go for memory foam as my back is fekked. Our existing mattress was a all singing all dancing orthopedic one. what a loada shite that was!! anyways, whilst searching, the guy in the shop was great. Asked whether we slept 'hot' or 'cold' as Mem foam doesnt suit hot sleepers, then after a bit took us thru loads of mattresses. We ended up with one that has really small springs as opposed to large springs or mem foam and although it is fairly comfy, it still does fek all for my back.
I may well give one of these toppers a go.
