The Streets of sheffield are echoing to cries of "Lovely, Smashing, Super and Great" as all those former Bulls Eye winners who took home a speed boat finally have a chance to use it.....

No seriously , they sold em all years ago to pay the deposit on static caravans at Skeggy!
Anyhow, nearest twatter were down on't Broards nearer to tha lot.
Ain't too bad up in Sheffield now Pete, still raining, but rivers are a lot lower now, just the clearing up to do in many places, there's shitty brown, (foul smellin), sludge everywhere where the flood waters have been and that ain't much good for Falcos or speedboats.
Although speedboats would still go down well in Catcliffe and a few other areas. Trouble is keep groundin em out on sunken cars!

most surprising thing is, in all seriousness, we have not had any floods - and the broads have been very high - apparently this was planned to take the water off other areas and not allow it to back up??

Yeh but that's because you have proper flood controls around the Broads and make sure they work. You may have seen one of our main flood plains on telly, i.e. Catcliffe! Trouble is some years ago they decided to build both council and private housing on it, same in many other areas. Then again in this case, flooding these areas made no bloody difference, places like Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster still got badly hit. Still does mean that they take much longer to drain as well, so the people there suffer for much longer. Can't even sell up and move out of these areas, as nobody will buy them now.
