We changed to "decision successful" on the immigration site on thursday and today we have in our grubby little mitts our "invitation to apply".
Now it is starting to become real. We have only 4mths to submit the ITA and so this means that by Yule we could very well have our blue stickers to say we have the right to permanent residency in NZ. That's not long!!!

Yep, still a chance for it to go wrong though.
There have been a few tears over the past day though [don't tell anyone, I'm still a rough, tough, ginga gal] It's made me realise much I love Britain and how lucky I am to have been born and brought up here. Also how much I'll miss the familiar. I know it is something we have to do for many reasons but BRITAIN ROCKS.

When I spent a month in NZ in 1978, I was struck by how english it was (does that still apply?).
So if it does, don't even think about missing this country, make the most of the reason you want to go in the 1st place

Myrkk, we will be leaving this country when we retire, I've had enough of the pc brigade and politicians trying to steal everything we have.

Good luck Myrkk, hope it works out well for you. I've never made it to NZ but everything you hear about it sounds good, if you like a bit of peace and quiet anyway.
Gio: you're right, there's too many immigrants in this country aren't there? It's enough to make you want to emigrate and become an ....
immigrant.
Now if you can find a low tax country that you'd actually want to live in then good luck to you. I've looked, and can't. I'm happy in the good old UK.

Go to Italy or France, most people there pay very little tax. They want people to go to Italy with foreign money to invest, they'll give you a nice tax break if it creates jobs
